White Water Rafting

Day 01
Arrive Entebbe International Airport and after clearing immigration formalities you will be welcomed by Swift Freight Tours & Travel representative and transferred to your hotel in Kampala.
Overnight at Sheraton Kampala (BB).

Day 02
After breakfast drive to Lake Mburo National Park (4 hours) stopping en route at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers where traditional art has been unchanged for centuries. After a picnic lunch in the park take a guided bush walk and game drives. Lake Mburo is a beautiful and relatively game park offering a gentle introduction to the flora and fauna of Uganda. Animals you may see includes zebras, Impalas, oribi, dik dik, klipspringer, bush buck, buffalo and abudance of bird life. In the early evening a short distance drive to Mbarara town while watching long horned Ankole cows grazing on the sides of the road.
Overnight at Lake View Hotel (BLD).

Day 03
After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred by road to Buhoma in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Lunch will be served at White Horse Inn. After lunch continue to Buhoma and relax, in anticipation of the next day's activities.
Overnight Bwindi Tent Camp (BLD).

Day 04
Early Breakfast and then transfer to the park gate where you will meet your guides and porters before you start your day long tracking. The rugged mountain terrain makes hiking exciting and adventurous in search of gorillas. Bwindi has other diurnal mammals making one of the richest ecosystems in Africa. Other primates include Chimpanzee, L’hoests monkey, black and white colobus monkey and baboons. The time spent tracking will depend on the location of the gorillas, a picnic lunch will be served and you will only be allowed only one hour stay with gorillas. After viewing gorillas return back to the camp.

Day 05
After breakfast transfer back to Kampala, with lunch served at Lake View Hotel enroute to Kampalaand dinner at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

Day 06
After breakfast at the Hotel transfer by road to Jinja town stopping en route at Owen Falls Dam; Uganda’s biggest hydro power station. The scenic views are excellent as you drive through gentle slopping hills with both tea and sugar cane estates on either side. On arrival at Jinja town, drive for a short distance and visit the source of River Nile. This is a point where the great Nile starts its long journey up to Mediterranean Sea. Continue to Njeru village near Jinja town and Nabugayi and start your 45 Kilometers trip on River Nile. The first day you will cover about 9 rapids in the morning and after lunch on the Island cover another five more rapids. About five o’clock you will view a spectacular dog-leg of waves known as “Novocaine” which is the first rapid after our normal one-day take out point. Paddle up to the Island for overnight. It’s a feasting night with chicken, steak and fish under the stars.
Overnight Island Camp (BLD).

Day 07
Wake to sunrise and take your breakfast at the camp, ring the raft with oar frames and push off from the shore at about 9:30 AM. This second day involves oar boating, the guide rows the boat and every one else kicks back and relaxes. The first rapid will be “Hair of the Dog” and continue to “Kulu Shaker” after a short flat section you challenge “Nile Special” which is the towering wave train that dwarfs the raft. Relax for a long stretch before reaching “Malalu” which is the home to one of the biggest single waves on this stretch of river. After Malalu pull over to an Island for lunch. This afternoon it will be calmer water, which winds through spectacular scenery and heavily forested Islands and banks. Locals around will come to watch since this stretch is flat and bird viewing opportunities are high and you way see Nile River Otter in play. The last rapid “Weleba” before Nabuganyi will be reached around 4:00 PM. Escaping the heat with a drink from the cooler in the bus. You head west from Nile and transfer back to Kampala by 6:00PM. This two days trip is definitely an unsurprassed experience on the Nile.
Overnight Sheraton Kampala (BLD).

Day 08
After breakfast transfer to Entebbe airport and board your departure flight. (B&B)
End of your tour.
